I've always wanted to excel in calculator solving for x, it seems like there's a lot that can be done with it that I can't do otherwise. I've searched the internet for some useful learning tools, and consulted the local library for some books, but all the information seems to be targeted at people who already know the subject. Is there any tool that can help new students as well?

If you can give details about calculator solving for x, I could provide help to solve the math problem. If you don’t want to pay for a algebra tutor, the next best option would be a accurate computer program which can help you to solve the problems. Algebrator is the best I have come upon which will show every step to any math problem that you may enter from your book. You can simply represent as your homework assignment. This Algebrator should be used to learn algebra rather than for copying answers for assignments.

Algebrator is used by almost every person in our class. Most of the students in my class work in the evening. Our teacher introduced this tool to us and we all have been using it since then.

You can find it at http://www.mathfraction.com/equivalent-fractions.html. Please do post your feedback here. It may help a lot of other novices as well.

A truly piece of math software is Algebrator. Even I faced similar problems while solving graphing inequalities, equivalent fractions and angle complements. Just by typing in the problem from homeworkand clicking on Solve – and step by step solution to my math homework would be ready. I have used it through several math classes - Remedial Algebra, Algebra 1 and Algebra 1. I highly recommend the program.
